TÜRKIYE’S DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL COMMUNICATION SATELLITE TÜRKSAT 6A WAS LAUNCHED INTO SPACE

With the efforts of Turkish engineers, Türkiye’s first local and national communication satellite, Türksat 6A, was launched into space from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA,on July 9 at 02.30 Turkish time. The first signal was received from the satellite at the 67th minute of the launch. Türksat 6A, which is planned to be used actively for 15 years, will also enter the coverage area of ​​India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia and will be able to serve 5 billion people. Türkiye produced a total of 84 parts of the satellite, which was developed with an 80 percent local production rate.
