We celebrated the 17th Ramadan World Halal Day, which we started 10 years ago under the leadership of WHC, to raise awareness in the world public opinion, with various events around the world this year as well.
– An iftar dinner was held for 160 people at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, organized by GIMDES Headquarters.
– Guest students in Ankara, GIMDES auditors and volunteers and members of the bureaucracy participated in the fast-breaking program organized by GIMDES Ankara Representative Office and hosted by ASMAKÖPRU, the International Student Association for the Bridge of Moral Love and Spirituality, with the contributions of TOÇBİRSEN, the Union of Agriculture and Forestry Workers.
– Orphans, nursing homes and earthquake survivors attended the fast-breaking dinner for 300 people organized by Sakarya Halal Dunya Markets.
– Iftar tables were set up for our brothers in the earthquake zone by Kahramanmaraş HDM, Osmaniye HDM and Şanlıurfa HDM where 320 earthquake victims were hosted. Gaziantep Halal Dunya markets distributed iftar meals to a village of 110 people damaged in the earthquake.
– Iftar tables for 3000 people were set up in Syria (Idlib) and Palestine (Gaza).
USA- ISWA Halal Certification Institution
-ISWA organized a seminar and iftar organization on 17 Ramadan World Halal Day with the participation of 350 people.
Greece- Halal Greece
-Halal Greece sponsored an iftar organization on 17 Ramadan World Halal Day for 200 people.
Bulgaria- Halal Balkans
-Halal Balkans sponsored an iftar organization on 17 Ramadan World Halal Day for 100 people.
Philippines- The Islamic Dawah Council of the Philippines
1. IDCP has done that pre-Ramadhan Food Distribution to more than 100 families of the indigenous “Aeta” tribe who have converted to Islam around the Mount Pinatubo area in Pampanga and Zambales in Northern Luzon.
2. In this Holy Month of Ramadhan, IDCP has distributed Iftar Food Distribution to various Mosques and in addition they have packed food for poor families in about 5 to 10 communities and they are still in the process of distributing Food Aid for these communities including those Muslims who are serving their sentence in the National
Penitentiary in Muntinlupa.
3. They have highlighted the potentials of Halal products and halal certification for manufacturers in the Philippines.
4. They have written a letter, addressed to supermarkets and grocery stores regarding the observance of displaying Halal products in their stores.
Tatarstan- Halal Standardization Committee Centralized religious organization – Muslim Religious Board of the Republic of Tatarstan
– Considering the huge significance of World Halal Day in Russia, an iftar program was held in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.
Spain- Halal Food and Quality
1. HFQ proudly served as a sponsor for the first public iftar in the city center in a non-Muslim country in Europe. The event brought together 500 people to break their fast together in the city hall square of Valencia. The call to prayer, our holy Ezan, resonated through the city center of Valencia.
2. HFQ sponsors iftars every day in Ramadan in the Islamic Association of Women of Torrent.
3. HFQ distributes dates for iftar in four different mosques (Mosque of Moncofa, Mosque of Ribarroja, Mosque of La Vall d’Uixo, Mosque of Torrent)
4. Iftar and Sahoor collaboration for 80 people every day in the Center of Minors of Valencia. These centers accommodate immigrant Muslim children who enter Spain from Africa without parents and the most of the workers are Arabic speaker Muslims.
5. Dr. Said Ratbi Bali participate in conferences frequently and participate at late night Islamic talks in mosques.
6. Sponsoring and participating educational activities in Muslim Youth Association (AJUVE).
7. HFQ participated to bring 32 Islamic affairs experts (imams) from Morocco to serve in Mosques in Spain during Ramadan. During Ramadan there is more necessity of this service.
8. Sponsored the Tournament of Football for Muslim Youngsters in Valencia.
South Africa- Islamic Council of South Africa
1. Under the banner of ICSA, Sheikh Thafier Najjaar presents Islamic radio programmes called Islam in Focus on a South African Radio Broadcasting (SABC) radio station on a weekly basis, educating and bringing awareness to Muslims and non-Muslims at large about Islam especially on halal matters.
2. Under the banner of ICSA, we also have TV programs on Islam.
3. For ICSA, Sheikh Thafier Najjaar appears in his capacity as Imam in Shari’ah Court at Muslim Assembly on matrimonial matters on a monthly basis.
4. Every night, after Iftar Taraweeg. ICSA gives lectures to approximately 3000 (three thousand) people.
5. Under the umbrella of ICSA, Mount View Feeding Scheme (MVFS) feeds the poor and lesser fortunate every day of Ramadan in areas like Mountview, Hanover Park, Delft, Khayelitsha and Atlantis, etc.
6. Under ICSA, by the 25th of Ramadan, we also distribute many food parcels to the lesser fortunate for Eid.
7. Halal Day which is the 17th Ramadan, we make people aware of halal via TV, radio and mosques.
8. In Ramadan, ICSA staff also took part in a halal training program.
Bangladesh- Halal Bangladesh Services Ltd.
On the occasion of World Halal Day, Mr. Jasim reported that he feeding/paying for the one day food/Iftar for about 150 peoples at a Masjid near his village home and cash contribution to few other Masjid around him, where he perform his daily prayers and distributing Zakat to needy & less fortunate relatives and neighbors of his paternal home.
GIMDES Ladies’ Board
– GIMDES Ladies’ Board Kırşehir representative and Kırşehir IHH organized a balloon parade with 90 children and many parents on 17 Ramadan to draw attention to the 17 Ramadan World Halal Day.
– Iftar was organized on 17 Ramadan World Halal Day by the Van representative of GIMDES Ladies’ Board.
– Gaziantep Provincial Representative of GIMDES Ladies Board was at Ramazan Street on World Halal Day. They offered halal certified cakes, Turkish delight and cocoa milk that they made themselves. They gave balloons to the children.
– GIMDES Ladies’ Board Iğdır Volunteer Provincial Representatives waited for the noon prayer congregation on World Halal Day and distributed brochures and dates as treats.
– GIMDES Ladies’ Board Tekirdağ Provincial Representative held an iftar dinner with young girls aged 9-14 in the Balkan scouting sports club building in Tekirdağ’s Muratlı district.
– By the Istanbul Provincial Representative of the GIMDES Ladies’ Board, leaflets and dates were distributed to the ladies who came out of the mosque on the 17th of Ramadan World Halal Day in Istanbul Üsküdar Square after the noon prayer.
– Erzurum GIMDES female volunteers came together on the occasion of 17 Ramadan World Halal Day. The program was held at the Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Cultural Center.
– GIMDES Ladies’ Board Ankara Representation and World Halal Foundation Ankara Representation organized an iftar program with our volunteers to draw attention to 17 Ramadan World Halal Day.
– GIMDES Ladies’ Board Konya Representative Office distributed an information brochure on halal food by offering dates and Turkish delight after the prayer at the Merkez Kapu Mosque to draw attention to the 17th Ramadan World Halal Day.
– GIMDES Ladies Board Volunteer Kayseri Representative Office organized an iftar program special for 17 Ramadan World Halal Day with the participation of approximately 80 people.
– GIMDES Ladies Board Volunteer Burdur Representation Special online training was held on the 17th of Ramadan, World Halal Day.
– GIMDES Women’s Board Volunteer Karaman Representation distributed treats to the Qur’an memorizers of the “Hazrat Abu Bakr Girl Qur’an Course” and “Cedid Boys Qur’an Course” on the 17th of Ramadan World Halal Day.

– GIMDES Ladies Board Volunteer Çanakkale Representation introduced the World Halal Foundation and Dar’ul Halal Madrasah on 17 Ramadan World Halal Day.
– GIMDES Ladies Board Volunteer Mus Representation Office offered sweets prepared with certified products by the pioneer team on 17 Ramadan World Halal Day to the residents of the neighborhood.
