Seeking Knowledge is an Obligation upon Every Muslim

“..say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.” (At-Taha, 114)

“When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end, except three; Sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. a waqf or endowment), beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who will pray/supplicate for him.” (Sahih Jami` at-Tirmidhi; Hadith No 1376)

Seminars of GİMDES Ladies Board has been continuing throughout Turkey and Europe. On 14 December 2019 at 14.00, “Halal and Healthy Life” Seminar for women was held in TUGVA (Turkey Youth Foundation) in the Eyüp Headquarter.

Food Engineer Büşra Kayral Dağdaş has delivered speech for the seminar. She mentioned mainly about Halal and Tayyib nutrition, GİMDES and Halal certification, Haram and Mashbuh food ıngredients, the significance of learning the knowledge of Halal and Tayyib nutrition, acquiring this knowledge and implementation of it under the core subject of “Halal and Healthy Life”.

Every Muslim is responsible for learning auspicious and beneficial knowledge, especially considering this century which we can reach information easily from vast sources of knowledge and education. Halal and Tayyib nourishment is also the command of our Almighty Allah (Al-Baqarah, 168). In addition, the person is obliged to share his knowledge with others. This duty is called Tabligh and we inherited this from our Prophet (S.A.W.). Therefore, every Muslim must apply his auspicious knowledge to his life and share it as much as possible.

GİMDES also struggles for this by training programs and seminars aimed to accomplish this task. As members of society, we should participate in the seminars and invite our friends and relatives.
