A group of businessmen and businesswomen from Sarawak Province, Malaysia visited GIMDES.
Representatives of 15 companies in Sarawak Province, east of Malaysia, visited GIMDES and exchanged views.
Company representatives indicated that they work in the food sector in Sarawak and introduced their products. The delegation asked GIMDES to guide them to introduce their Halal and Tayyib certified products in Turkey market and to enter the European market through Turkey.
These companies produce spices, dried fruits, cosmetics and care products and processed sea products in Sarawak region.
GIMDES President Dr. Hüseyin Kami Büyüközer stated that the Halal certified product market has been growing continuously, and that despite the increase in the number of producers and the product variety, it is very important to understand the importance and the value of the Halal and Tayyib products.
The World Halal Market Project is a good example and stockholders should make similar attempts in each country, said Dr. Büyüközer.
Dr. Büyüközer also invited the guests to the international Istanbul Halal Fair, which was planned to be held in September 2019.
The Business trip was organized under the deputy secretary general of the Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce Mr. Muhamad Amin Fahmi Bin Solahuddin. Dr. Hi Wahbi Hj. Junaidifrom Amanah Khairat – Sarawak region, said that such visits are very useful for the development of relations between the two countries. Also, many large land in Sarawak region of Malaysia has allocated for the development of Halal industry and waiting investors from Turkey.
