The medicinal plant called Costus used to be obtained from a tree that grew in the Far East Asian lands.
In our country, the purpose of growing this plant was to use it as an ornamental plant. The wood and bark of the Costus tree were used as incense because they emitted a pleasant smell when burned. This plant was brought to Arab countries by merchants in ancient times. For this reason, another name for it is “Qust al-Bahri”.
If you come across it as an aloe tree, do not ask what this plant is. Another known name for the Costus plant is the aloe tree. There is a hadith of our Prophet regarding its healing properties, “The best of treatments is cupping and treatment with costus.”
During the days of the corona infection, some people were able to obtain the easiest and most natural antibiotic at home with Costus powder and honey. While most of those sad and almost helpless and fearful people were condemned to vaccinations.
