WE WISH OUR FRIDAY TO BE KHAYR AND BARAKAH FROM JANAB AL-HAQQ

Dr. Hüseyin Kami BÜYÜKÖZER

TODAY IS FRIDAY, THE DAY OF LOVE, COOPERATION AND PEACE…

“Indeed, those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain will have no share in the Hereafter. Allah will neither speak to them, nor look at them, nor purify them on the Day of Judgment. And they will suffer a painful punishment.” (Surah Ali ‘Imran, Ayat 77)

Today is Friday, the day of friendship, the day of peace, the day of love, the day of brotherhood. Let us all come together, young and old, for the sake of Allah, and let us love and forgive each other.

Another meaning of the word Islam, which our Almighty Lord gave to His religion, is peace.

The concept of forgiveness and tolerance expressed in the verse, “Be gracious, enjoin what is right, and turn away from those who act ignorantly.” (Surah Al-A’raf 199) is one of the fundamental principles of the religion of Islam.

The fact that believers who submit to Allah live in peace and avoid behaviors such as resentment comes from their devotion to Islam. Because the unity of believers around Islam depends on their living the divine principles. Therefore, it is stated in the verse:

“The believers are but one brotherhood, so make peace between your brothers. And be mindful of Allah so you may be shown mercy.” (Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayat 10)

The only way to experience mercy, compassion, tolerance and peace is through Islamic brotherhood. It is possible to strengthen our brotherhood and unite our hearts to do our work and worship easily and to live in peace and righteousness.

Ending disagreements between believers who are brothers in terms of faith with peace is a religious responsibility for the believers in that environment. Every believer should feel this responsibility in their heart. Because our religion commands to be forgiving, to behave well, to speak nice words and to help each other in peace.

If we are believers, we have to accept this command. Even if a believer learns to fly like birds in an airplane, swim like fish in the sea and sing like nightingales in music, he cannot experience the feeling of love that Islam gives to brotherhood. if he has not learned, then woe to him. Believers may have made a mistake towards each other. But they can never erase the feeling of brotherhood that comes from their faith because of that mistake. Because our Almighty Lord has placed that feeling in the heart of the believer. Therefore, the feeling of peace is the most beautiful of the rulings given in the heart.

Our beloved prophet said in his hadiths: “Do not hate one another, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert each other, and O, Allah’s worshipers! Be brothers. Lo! It is not permissible for any Muslim to desert (not talk to) his brother (Muslim) for more than three days. The best of those who are angry with each other is the one who greets each other and then makes peace.” (Bukhari al-Adab, Muslim Birr, Tirmidhi Birr)

In the following hadith, it is stated: “If one of the offended ones greets and the other one receives the greeting, they both earn the reward of reconciliation. If he does not, the sin (of the one who does not receive) is borne by him, and the one who greets is freed from the sin.”

The reconciliation of the resentful will be a means to Islamic brotherhood, unity, cooperation, affection and love. Hatred and hostility are nothing but the ugly path that drags people towards hell. Therefore, believers get along well with each other, do not behave in a way that will cause trouble to anyone, do not break hearts or hurt hearts, and patiently endure the torment that comes from others.

Today is Friday, a day of friendship, a day of peace, a day of love, a day of brotherhood, a day of cooperation. Come today, all together, for the sake of Allah, let us forgive each other and show our love to each other. Let us not forget Gaza today.
