It is not always necessary for a believer to find a scientific justification for divine prohibitions. However, if a believer has seen and found such a scientific justification, he should share this information with other believers to increase their faith. If he does so, he will gain reward by helping some of those who may be in doubt to find the right path. We believe that all Qur’anic statements are true, and if science has not yet confirmed them, it may today need to go deeper and repeat the experience to carefully review its data.
We believe that in the future when it fulfills this need, it will certainly confirm them. For the benefit of non-medical readers, I will try to explain our topic within the framework of 9 articles by quoting from the published articles of Dr. SHAHID ATHAR, clinical associate professor at Indiana University, School of Medicine, whom we invited to our first Conference many years ago in 2009 and who passed away in 2018, to define some medical terms and their interrelationships, before explaining the topic of the hormonal and behavioral effects of prohibited foods, intoxicants and additives:
Article Titles will be as follows:ย
1-Hormones Direct Our Behavior
ย 2-How Do Our Hormones Affect Our Behavior?ย

HORMONES GUIDE OUR BEHAVIORย
These are powerful secretions of the endocrine (internal) glands. They control the functions of all organs and even of every single cell. They are made from proteins (peptides) and sterols in nature. The most important endocrine glands are the hypothalamus, which secretes various hormones that are released for the pituitary, and the pituitary gland, which secretes hormones for target endocrine glands. Both are located in the brain.ย
The target endocrine glands are the thyroid glands, which secrete thyroid hormones, which control our metabolism, energy levels, and temperature tolerance. Next to these are the parathyroid glands, which control our calcium metabolism. Above the kidney in the abdominal cavity are the adrenal glands, which secrete cortisone. These hormones are essential hormones that protect life. Catecholamines and aldosterone produced by the adrenal glands control heart rate and blood pressure. Steroids and catecholamines are derived from cholesterol.
The abdomen also contains the pancreas, which secretes insulin to lower blood sugar and glucagon to raise low blood sugar. A little further down in the lower abdominal cavity are the reproductive organs (ovaries and gonads), which secrete estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, respectively.
All these hormones have internal control and each one affects the other. They control our growth, muscle structure, bone development, heat tolerance, blood pressure, energy, fertility, sexual desire, thirst, and overall health.
