Food and Necessary Goods Inspection and Certification Research Association (GİMDES), which was established in 2005 with the intention of contributing to the implementation of the Halal and Tayyib product consumption commanded by Allah as fard-i ayn to all Muslims, spreading this awareness and ensuring its sustainability, has completed its 20th anniversary today. We would like to inform the public once again of its activities, which it has been carrying out with sincerity and determination for 20 years.
● We have received more than 2000 certificate applications since the day we were founded.
● Nearly 1000 companies from the applicants have been awarded the certificate.
● Currently, nearly 500 certified companies, 780 brands and more than 20,000 product varieties have the Halal and Tayyib Certificate from GIMDES.
● Organized the International Halal and Tayyib Products Conference on “Food, medicine, health materials, cleaning products, cosmetics, necessities, fiqh issues” 16 times in total. 115 different speakers from 30 different countries participated in these conferences. (Speakers who participated in more than one conference were not counted twice.)
● Organized the International Halal and Tayyib Products Fair 9 times.
● Organized workshops and trainings in more than 50 kindergartens within the scope of the Halal Kitchen Workshop.
● Gave more than 3000 seminars in 81 provinces of Turkey.
● “Halal life starts in the womb, Halal-flavored conversations, GIMDES answers, Being a soldier in the Halal cause” titled training series was organized. More than 50,000 listeners attended these trainings.
● Held Halal and Tayyib Certification and Inspection Procedures Training 35 times.
● 3784 different news were published on the activities carried out by GIMDES on 15 websites it manages, current issues that will raise public awareness, and Halal and Tayyib critical control points of food and necessities.
● 14 different books were published by GIMDES publications. The 100th issue of the Halal Life Guide magazine, also published by GIMDES publications, is being published as the January-February issue of 2025.
● GIMDES, together with the Dunya Halal Foundation, has provided approximately 1 million Turkish liras worth of in-kind and cash aid to our oppressed and victimized Muslim brothers and sisters abroad and in Türkiye within the scope of the charity center project and orphan project since its establishment.
● Again, together with the World Halal Foundation, it launched the Darû’l Halal Madrasah project in the 2023-2024 academic year. Last year, the Food Science and Technology associate degree department gave its first graduates with online education. Undergraduate and associate degree departments were opened in the 2024-2025 academic year. Our madrasah continues education with a total of 50 students.
● It established the Halal Dunya Markets system and ensured the opening of nearly 100 branches. It currently offers Halal and Tayyib certified products to consumers throughout Türkiye and Vienna with nearly 50 branches and the Online Halal Dunya Markets website.
● In 2013, with the decision taken together with the World Halal Council, 17 Ramadan was declared World Halal Day. For 12 years, it has been a reason to celebrate this day by organizing competitions, events, seminars, iftars at home and abroad.
We would like to thank our GIMDES and DHV(Dunya Halal Foundation) management and audit boards, our Fiqh board, our Technical science board, our Volunteer Women board, and our Volunteer Youth board for organizing these events.
We would like to thank our certified companies, sponsors, certification institutions with whom we have signed recognition agreements, and associations and foundations that cooperate with us for their contributions to these events.
We pray to Janab al-Haqq to accept our services, to make us do the work that pleases Him until our last breath, and to be able to perform services of the kind of sadaqah jariya that will continue until the Day of Judgment.
