In our religion, resembling infidels, tashabbuh, is forbidden as understood from the hadith mentioned.
Congratulating such holidays and participating in them in any way is a kind of love and affection, which is forbidden by the relevant verses.
The celebration of New Year and Christmas is a kind of holiday and is a matter with religious and ideological dimensions. Indeed, our Prophet (pbuh) said: “For every people is a Eid, and today is our Eid.” and expressed that every community has its own holiday and we Muslims have a separate holiday.
A Muslim who celebrates this is acting hypocritically in the religion of Allah (swt) and has a sign of practical hypocrisy. However, a true Muslim is obliged to glorify the religion of Allah (swt) under any circumstances and to present it as a value above everything else in every stage of his life.
A Muslim’s being an intermediary in these celebrations is also helping in a forbidden act, which is also prohibited by the relevant verse and as the final word, Allah (swt) said: “Fear Allah, Surely Allah is severe in punishment!”
