Al Jazeera Gaza bureau chief Vâil Dahdûh, who lost his wife, daughter, two sons and many relatives, gave an interview to his own television channel after his treatment in Qatar. In this report, Vâil Dahdûh talked about the events and changing perceptions since October 7.

“Since the electricity was cut off during the bombardments, we sometimes walked over corpse parts in the places we went to report on news, and we realized this later. “Ninety percent of the images we witnessed were not broadcastable.”

PEOPLE WERE FREED FROM ISRAEL’S INTELLECTUAL SHALES

“Until October 7, Israel’s invincibility, immunity and the power of its army were accepted as a fate all over the world. It was clearly understood that all of this was just superstition. Strong objections to Israel’s theses began all over the world. People were freed from the intellectual shackles that were placed on them. Israel’s image has been seriously damaged. Despite all the difficulties of the war, this is a very important result.”

A GREAT AWARENESS HAS STARTED IN THE ISLAMIC WORLD

“A great awareness has begun all over the Islamic world, especially among young people. Nowadays, even children look at boycott lists while shopping and carefully check what they will buy. Jerusalem, Palestine, Masjid al-Aqsa are all on their agenda. This is an incredible situation. “I compare what is happening today to the awareness that occurred after the First Intifada in 1987.”

I COULD ONLY SEE MY FAMILY’S FUNERALS

“The day the attacks started, when I left home and went to work, I told my wife to prepare herself for not seeing each other for a few months. After that, I could only see the funerals of my family.”
