وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الْاَمْوَالِ وَالْاَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِؕ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرٖينَۙ ﴿١٥٥
اَلَّذٖينَ اِذَٓا اَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصٖيبَةٌۙ قَالُٓوا اِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَاِنَّٓا اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَؕ ﴿١٥٦
“We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Give good news to those who patiently endure who, when faced with a disaster, say, “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will ˹all˺ return.” (Surah Al-Baqara, Ayat 155, 156)
We experienced one of the biggest disasters of our century in the earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 magnitudes, which occurred in the Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş and affected the surrounding cities, especially Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Hatay, Diyarbakır, Osmaniye, Malatya, Adıyaman, Batman and Kilis. Along with our nation, all the countries of the world mobilized for help. We, on behalf of the GIMDES Group [GIMDES, World Halal Council, Dünya Helal Vakfı (World Halal Foundation), Halal Dunya Markets and GIMDES Youth Volunteer], have been instructed to distribute parcels of food, cosmetics and dietary supplements to the disaster victims in cooperation with local Red Crescent and AFAD (Türkiye Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) institutions, from our Halal Dunya Markets in the earthquake region, with a total amount of one million TL for now.
We pray Janab Al-Haqq mercy on our brothers who lost their lives in this tragic earthquake, and patience for their relatives and our nation. We wish our injured brothers a speedy recovery. We pray to our Lord that such a disaster will not occur again.
May Allah (swt) protect and help us.
