Having rolled up its sleeves for citric acid production, Tezkim Chemicals of Turkey has just applied for Halal certificate. This is very important because citric acid, one of the critical ingredients of the food industry, was not available in Turkey and all consumption quantity had to be imported. Now that there is a local producer with good capacity, users of this product will not be bound to importers or foreign companies. Citric Acid with proper Halal certificate will soon be available insha’Allah.
The facility has a production capacity of 150 tons of citric acid/per day. GIMDES audit team has conducted necessary studies and inspected the facility in order to establish the Halal Assurance System (HAS). In the studies carried out in the company, the quality managers, purchasing, production and storage units were trained in accordance with the social distance rules while standards and procedures that are required for a well-functioning system were being explained. Potential risks to HAS have been detected and studies have been initiated to control these risks with the necessary documentation.
