The European Association of Halal Certifiers (AHC-EUROPE) is an Islamic, independent, non-profit and non-governmental (NGO) institution with the aim to create cooperation and facilitate activities amongst its Member Organizations and to be the referential institution for Halal affairs in Europe to third parties.
Brussels, 09 March 2010 – Ten European Halal certifying organisations have founded the European Association of Halal Certifiers: AHC-EUROPE. The first step was taken on 24 September 2009 with a first meeting of Halal Certifiers from Belgium, Bosnia, France, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Turkey, and the UK.
AHC-EUROPE head quarter will be in Brussels. The following principles have been adopted by the AHC-EUROPE during the founding meeting:
P1. The European Association of Halal Certifiers (AHC-EUROPE) is an Islamic, independent, non-profit and non-governmental (NGO) institution with the aim to create cooperation and facilitate activities amongst its Member Organizations and to be the referential institution for Halal affairs in Europe to third parties.
P2. The European Association of Halal Certifiers (AHC-EUROPE) aims to cultivate understanding of Halal and Tayyib (allowed and wholesome), as well as quality in the area of Halal certification in Europe in assuring Halal products.
P3. The European Association of Halal Certifiers (AHC-EUROPE) supports the establishment and development of an European and international Halal institution that will deal with Halal related issues including standardisation, education, training, accreditation and other matters.
The first president elected of AHC-EUROPE is Halal Control, Germany.
